About us:
Our
pre-school is located in the Community Centre adjacent to Merley 1st
School in Harrier Drive, Merley. The pre-school has been
located
in Merley for over 20 years and boasts having some of the most highly
qualified Early Years practitioners in Poole Borough.
The pre-school is a
registered charity and is Committee run.
The
pre-school staff have relevant and recognised Early Years
Qualifications and attend at least 24 hours of training each year, this
figure is often far exceeded. The staff includes a qualified
Early Years Professional and an Early Years Teacher. We care
for
children with or without disabilities and Special Educational Needs
(S.E.N) from all backgrounds, religions and cultures. All
staff
have had criminal records checks from the Government's Disclosure and
Barring Service to ensure their suitability to work with
children. The Committee members have had similar
checks. We
offer a high adult to child ratio, which we feel is important for the
welfare and development of the children in our care.
Our
aim is:
- To enhance the development, education and care of
children aged from 2 years, in a family friendly, community based group.
- To
work with the Early Years Foundations Stage, to create individualised
learning and support for each child, working alongside parents to
create termly plans for areas of learning and development for their
child.
- To provide children with a safe and secure
environment in which to explore and discover.
- To
encourage children to question what they know and to be curious and
inquisitive by providing interesting, diverse and appropriate
activities both indoors and outdoors.
- To help enable children to become independent
individuals with their own unique identities.
We
offer your child:
- A specially designed curriculum which supports the
Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).
- Individual care and attention made possible through a
high adult to child ratio.
- A fun learning environment with a friendly team of
Early Years Practitioners.
- The support of a key person for each child and their
family.
- Opportunities
for you and your family to be involved in the group's activities,
management and your own child's progress and development.
